October 2007 –I’m thrilled to announce that on October 9, I got the call that I sold my first book!! Woo hoo!!

To be precise, I sold three books. *g* These are part of a new mystery series I sold in a three-book deal to NAL. I’m still walking on air and pinching myself to make sure I’m not dreaming, but reading the Publishers Marketplace deal announcement helped remind me that it’s really real! Here’s what they said:

Fiction: Mystery/Crime – Kate Carlisle's HOMICIDE IN HARDCOVER: A Bibliophile Mystery, a cursed copy of Goethe's Faust leads a rare book restorer into a murder investigation that only she can solve—with the help of clues she uncovers in a valuable first edition, and three other books in the series, to Kristen Weber at NAL, by Kelly Harms and Christina Hogrebe at Jane Rotrosen Agency (world English).

Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it? Hallelujah!! I hope you’ll drop by often to see what’s happening next in my writing career!

I continue to blog once a month and comment every day at Romance Bandits. It’s a wild and fun group of authors who have fabulous guests and contests every week, so come by and say hello!

Exactly one year ago, I was an American Title Finalist and what an adventure that was. Starting this month, there’s a whole new crop of paranormal writers vying to win American Title IV and I hope you’ll support them just as you supported me. Go to RomanticTimes.com to read the entries and see what the judges had to say, and vote for your favorite.

Hope you’re enjoying the change of seasons!

Summer 2007 – Surf’s up! Hope you’re all having a great summer!

A year ago, I headed off to the RWA conference in Atlanta as a triple Golden Heart Finalist. I won the award for Snooping in Stilettos and it was one of the highlights of my life. This year, I’m honored and thrilled to be presenting the 2007 Golden Heart award for Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements at the conference in Dallas. I can’t wait to announce the name of this year’s winner! Click here for the full list of this year’s talented finalists.

A number of my fellow 2006 Golden Heart finalists have started a fabulous new blog we call Romance Bandits. I hope you’ll visit us often to see what a fun group of writers we are. And if you’re wondering why we chose the name Romance Bandits, it’s because we write stories guaranteed to steal your heart!

I continue to blog once a month at A Slice of Orange, the official blog of the Orange County Chapter of RWA. Stop by anytime to enjoy my fellow OCC members’ words of wisdom.

Stay cool!

Spring 2007 – Good heavens, time does fly by, doesn’t it? I hope life is treating you well. I’m currently on pins and needles as several of my manuscripts make the rounds of editors in New York City. You know you’ll be the first to hear if “something” happens.

At the end of April, we’ll find out who won the American Title Contest. The winner will be announced at the Romantic Times Convention in Houston. I won’t be able to attend this year but I’ll be there in spirit with my fellow ATIII finalists! And if you’d like to enter your paranormal romance in next year’s contest, be sure to read the submission guidelines at Romantic Times. The deadline is June 1, 2007.

I’m blogging once a month at A Slice of Orange, the official Blog of the Orange County Chapter of RWA. Come by and see what’s going on in the OC! And you can always catch up on the latest excitement in my life by checking out my personal Blog!

October 2006 – Reeeally Big News!!! The Kama Sutra Chronicles is a finalist in this year’s American Title Contest! The contest is run by Dorchester Publishing and RT Book Review magazine, and it’s set up just like American Idol on TV. Each month, RT magazine’s website will post a different entry from the finalists’ books (first line, dialogue, story summary, etc.), then three charmingly snarky judges give their comments, and YOU vote for your favorite. Each month two finalists are eliminated until the winner is announced and that person is awarded a publishing contract with Dorchester!

I’d love your support!! Please vote for me and The Kama Sutra Chronicles!!

Check out my personal blog for updates, schedules, info, contests and more!  First round of voting begins October 16, 2006 at www.RomanticTimes.com. Follow the links to the American Title Contest. Only one vote allowed per e-mail address, so tell all your friends to vote, too!
